“Daddies, Daddies!” Eliza calls out, rushing towards to the living room where her fathers are watching TV as fast as she can.
Blaine turns the volume down on the television, turning towards his daughter. “Yes, Eliza?” he asks, and Kurt turns to his daughter as well.
Eliza hides her hands behind her back, grinning wide.
“Guess what I learned in school today?” the 8 year old prompts, jumping on the balls of her feet.
Kurt raises a perfect brow, looking at his husband, who looks just as confused as he feels.
“What?”
“Penguins mate for life,” she answers, as if it were the most obvious thing and explained everything.
Blaine narrows his eyes, his head tilting to the side every so slightly.
“Yes, and?” he asks.
“Annnnnnnd,” Eliza continues, “that’s like you and daddy!” As she reveals so, she brings her hands out from where they were hiding behind her back, revealing a small, homemade card in a dimpled hand. Eliza passes the card to her fathers, who take the card with matching dopey smiles.
The card is onesided, with a family of penguins standing in the center in the middle of a snow background. Eliza seems to have written in which penguin was who, with Blaine and Kurt penguins hugging the smaller penguin version of Eliza.
They two men look at each other with stupid grins before turning back to their daughter, who was patiently waiting for their verdict.
“It’s beautiful, honey,” Blaine says, an arm reaching out to the little girl. Eliza takes it happily, hugging her daddy tightly.
“Gorgeous, Eliza,” Kurt agrees, wrapping his arms around his family and holding them tight. “Thank you.”
Later that day, the card hangs proudly on the fridge, and though most people who look at the picture often don’t understand what’s happening, the Hummel-Anderson family know exactly just what’s going on.

He’s shaking for her, anxious and excited all at once, and he doesn’t notice but Kurt rolls his eyes at the way Blaine’s acting. Not that Blaine would really care at this point. He just continues to watch the girl, who’s waiting patiently in her chair for her name to be called.

His eyes snap open at the piercing wail, and by the time he’s getting out of the bed, Kurt’s out the room in his robe and slippers. Blaine quickly follows suit by stepping into his own slippers and briskly walking out of his and Kurt’s room.
It’s beyond horrifying, hearing the scream echo down the hall and into his room, and Blaine is terrified that the worse has already happened and he doesn’t have a clue what’s going on. What someone broke into the home? What if a random fire ignited somewhere in the house? And the worst: what if he’s too late?
Blaine becomes fully alert at the thought, his still sleepy mind be damned, and he follows Kurt quickly down the hall.

It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon and Kurt finds himself in Santana’s backyard with Blaine’s head on his chest, his fingers mindlessly twirling one of his boyfriend’s curls as they lounge in a giant hammock.
New Directions decided to have one more get together before people began leaving for college and university in the next few weeks before the semester started. When everyone but Sugar, Santana and Quinn – who decided to work on their tans – took to the giant pool in Santana’s backyard, Kurt and Blaine took to the seclusion of Santana’s hammock hung up between two giant trees. How long they’ve been there, listening to the splash of water and the cries (both joyous and despairing) of their friends they don’t quite know anymore. But it doesn’t matter, because the silence between them is comfortable and easy.
At least, it seems that way until Kurt decides to break it.

At just over two years old, he wiggles every which way in his mother’s hold, his way of begging his mom to put him down already. Really, they’re already in the daycare – Blaine can walk to the playpen himself now! It’s not fair that his four-year-old brother Cooper can run around the daycare once they step into the room.
Besides, it’s not like Coop has exciting news to tell his best friend.
